Update and Expansion Plans

03/29/2008: According to Dr. Nelson Malenya, the dentist in charge of the Kikuyu Hospital Dental Clinic, the situation in Kenya is returning to normal. Of the clinic he said, "The dental clinic has been busier than usual as the word about us is spreading. We continue to treat the underpriviledged and one of the highlights is our free dental visits to childrens homes." Dr. Malenya reports that the clinic sees an average of 40 patients a day.

Now that the initial fund-raising and construction has been completed, it has been decided to equip the remaining four operatories that were left unfurnished in the initial project. You are invited to help support this effort. Equipment is being procured and donations are being accepted to send the equipment to the hospital early this summer. Additional funds are being used for a patient subsidy fund.

02/15/2007: A slide show, "The Building of a Dream", is now available in several formats from the Photos section. The presentation includes over 60 slides showing the vision, history, and dreams for the dental clinic.
